Housing and change community signal

Current building-permit activity across Calgary communities

The citywide position of building-permit records in the latest rolling 12 months, normalized by the number of residential assessment parcels in the official community boundary.

This page compares one public-data signal at a time. It is a shortlist tool rather than an overall ranking, and every leading record links to a full community profile with the underlying evidence and local context.

Published formula

100% latest rolling 12-month noncancelled building-permit records per 1,000 residential assessment parcels, compared only among official boundaries with at least 50 residential parcels.

A higher position means more permit records relative to the residential parcel base. Boundaries below the 50-parcel comparison floor are held back; the signal does not establish approval, completion, workmanship, project size, property value, investment performance or how much construction affects a particular street. Disclosed project-cost fields cover only records that publish a cost.
