Community signals

Compare what Calgary communities are measurably strong in.

Community scores on CalgaryNeighbourhoods.ca are transparent 0-100 signal scores with separate citywide ranks, not subjective star ratings. Each lens combines named City of Calgary and 2021 Census inputs, publishes its formula, and keeps confidence separate from the result.

Use the category lists to discover communities worth comparing for a particular routine. A strong parks, cycling, transit, canopy, construction, or housing signal does not make one area universally better; the score summarizes the weighted evidence and the rank shows where that reporting boundary sits across Calgary.

Thirty-six comparison lenses

The current scorecard spans household routines, child care, schools, health and civic access, walkability, cycling, transit, winter mobility, parks, recreation, everyday services, food and coffee, mapped water and golf context, housing choice, premium assessment context, infill, permitted housing mix, new construction and established character.

Read the score with its evidence

Every profile shows the underlying records and formula coverage. Interpretive categories are capped at moderate confidence, limited-evidence records cannot receive public top-ten badges, and historical crime position remains separate from all other lifestyle signals.
